Union River Lobster Pot

It took 30 mins wait time at 6.30pm, and it was all worthy. We ordered 2x 1 & 1/4 lb lobsters with came with sizable portion of fries. The lobsters were simply delicious and the fries were good too. The owners were very friendly who came chatted with us about Singapore separately. Great restaurant and highly recommended for anyone visiting Maine and Acadia national park.

Initial visit was great, but went from 5 stars to 1. When we arrived tonight, host was rude and curt. Hostess previous to him taking over seemed to treat other customers before us courteously.

Union River Lobster Pot is a place you don't want to miss. And go hungry, cause you need the room. Wow, they do a grand job taking your order and preparing your meal. For appetizers we ordered the Artichoke Dip, Skewered Shrimp & Scallops, and Fresh Mussels. For the main dinner we had Baked Crab Stuffed Halibut and the Surf & Turf. We were all very full from all the awesome food, so we decided the dessert was something we should experience, but had to make it a To Go box. Since it is blueberry season here in Maine, we had to get one of each of their blueberry desserts. The first is the Open Blue Pie, which is a pie crust packed high with fresh blueberries. The other is the traditional style pie, but man it looks baked to perfection. Well have to wait till tomorrow to dig into them. I can hardly wait.

Every time I visit Maine I come to this restaurant. The food is so delicious and the prices are reasonable. The wait staff is wonderful and I can’t wait to visit again!!

Our party of four ate there last night. We were seated immediately. Waitress was warm and attentive. Food arrived promptly. We had lobster/steamer special, crab cakes, fish chowder, tacos, and lobster roll. Would highly recommend.

Got to watch the lobster get boiled,cut, and brought to table! Great atmosphere and beautiful setting in Ellsworth, Maine. Of course the food was fabulous!

Shared a 3 1/2 pound lobster with my mom and a bottle of wine with my sister. Service was spectacular! They split the bill without us asking. Amazing view. A do over for sure.

We were seated quickly and had a great meal. Restaurants for my hard of hearing mother are sometimes difficult, but here the acoustics were such that she was seemingly able to hear. Service was quick and attentive, the food tasted good and seemed fresh. I would definitely recommend if your in the area.

Uncomfortable chairs, cold stuffed mushrooms, cold dessert.. we told the waitress, she said she would pass along the message. Pass along the message but please offer to FIX it for us! So disappointed after reading rave reviews. Won't be back.

There was a long wait - almost an hour, before we could be seated. Our server was polite but rather inattentive. He didn't give us bread or coleslaw until we had to remind him. The food was tasty though. It was our first lobster eating experience but our server didn't come to check with us despite saying that he would. The food was reasonably priced though. The sangria wasn't fresh.

This place is a Midwesterners dream! We ate lobster, clams, and mussels. Not to mention New England clam chowder.. we are absolutely stuffed. This would have cost us an arm and leg back home! Delicious food and great service, we recommend it!

Best lobster roll in ME! Luckily, we did not have to wait a long time for our table. We also enjoyed the seating outside by the river with our blueberry martinis. If there's a long wait, just wait and enjoy the tranquil river with a drink!

This is the hot spot for seafood in Ellsworth. We ordered a flight of local beer, really liked the Blonde Ale garnished with lemon. The lobster is what everyone is after and you can watch your dinner meet it’s fate on the porch. The cook runs an intricate system of pots, nets, timers, and our favorite crustaceans. You can get a massive lobster here, they have over 2lbs listed on the menu and a note to ask your server about sizes over that mark. The seafood was fresh, the chowder was creamy, and the blueberry pie is 3 inches tall.

We came with 8 people, aged 15 months to 70+ years. Wait staff was more than accommodating, it's in a nice location, and we all really enjoyed our meals. Those who had the blueberry pie said it was one of the best they've had! We are planning to come back before we head home from vacation.

We tried this place while driving through Ellsworth and it was great. We got there one hour before closing but they were still cooking lobsters outside instead of packing up like some restaurants. We ordered a whole lobster, lobster rolls, and clam chowder. The whole lobster was great. The others items were just ok. The chowder was packed with potatoes, which made it chunkier than normal. The lobster roll was super cold. It felt like they just removed it from the fridge. Overall, it was good experience, but I'd stay away from the lobster rolls.

Not sure how to describe it, great customer service. Lobster obviously fresh. Salad was good too. Blueberry pie...very good. Typing this up is making me hungry. Wish food was this good in Los Angeles

Fresh lobster prepared anyway that you want for a very reasonable price.. They also offer and impressive cocktail selection.. I sat on the porch and enjoyed the ambience and view. Excellent staff.

Was traveling for work and happened to stop here for a late supper. This was a WONDERFUL surprise. The lobster dinner was delicious, and the blueberry pie was as delicious as everyone will no doubt tell you it is! Save room and have the pie!!!! Was one of my favorite meals during my trip; simple and heavenly!

Descent but NOT outstanding. Portions were small for the money. The Salmon was slightly dry... just slightly overcooked... good but not the Restaurant of the Week

Delicious food and drink. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Had the chowder, lobster roll, and blueberry pie. Everything was excellent! Dont miss the blueberry pie... the crust alone was to die for! Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Fish Sandwich and chowder were Excellent! Sandwich came out with Green Beans instead of fries as stated on the menu...thought that was strange? Maybe running low on fries? No explanation? I don't need the fries any way!

The lobster was fresh and delicious. They usually serve it with a side of fries and coleslaw.

Indoor or outdoor seating is great, depending on the weather. They offer a good range in lobster sizes, so if you are in the mood for a really big crustacean, you can find it here. There are lots of other good menu choices if seafood isn't your thing, and the kids were really happy with the selections on their menu.

If you're in or near Ellsworth, Maine, do yourself a favor and try this place. The owner is a former culinary arts teacher and I felt the need to thank and congratulate him during our decadent dessert. The service was perfect, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was lively and upbeat. I would have given them 5 stars, but our table was wobbly- our 3 year old daughter barely leaned on it and she caused our cold, refreshing beers to spill a bit. Otherwise, this place is near-perfect and deserves your business! If we're back in this area we will definitely be back!

This place is great! Amazing food and beverage selection. We arrived and had a wait to be seated, so we enjoyed drinks by the water. Really relaxed environment and great desserts to cap off the evening. I wish we had a place like this where I live. I hope to come back and eat there again soon!

Excellent dining experience! Decided to stop here for a late dinner while traveling through Ellsworth. Greeted and seated immediately, excellent wait staff, DELICIOUS food. Everything was super fresh and cooked to perfection. Our order was up much quicker than expected, too. Great local beer. The owner came over and checked in with us at the end of our meal and was a delight, very down to earth and welcoming. Loved this place!

Lobster! Lobster!! Lobster!!!And the bowl of clam chowder was awesome, too. Been here before, and will always be back when in this corner of Maine. Soup appetizers and lobsters were under $100 for us less tip. No alcohol for us this time. Loved the raspberry iced tea.Excellent service in a casual setting and great outdoors environment on the Union River in Ellsworth.Yum 😋
